Arizona Philharmonic Orchestra
This premier performance is the Arizona Philharmonic Orchestra’s inaugural, full-orchestra concert co-produced by Yavapai College and Chaparral Arts. Currents, is a tribute to New Orleans' complex relationship to water and a deeply emotional statement on the aftermath of the flooding after Hurricane Katrina. Composer Henry Flurry grew up in New Orleans but has lived in Prescott for the last 16 years. This performance is premiered by the local celebré and nationally recognized Steinway Artist James d'Leon and local marimbist Maria Flurry. Peter Bay of the Austin Symphony is at the podium.
